Verify your validation

Updated: Aug 25, 2022

We are embedded in a world driven by likes, shares, retweets, followers, and algorithms. We can easily get caught up in the desire to be validated by people we don't even know on the internet. But this week we learn from Apostle Paul in Acts 16: 16-18 when he actually became annoyed at a woman walking behind him cheering him on.

This is a great lesson for us as we live in a world that is driven by the opposite of how as believers live. Three things to look at and think critically of how to apply to our lives:

1. All spirits ain't the Holy Spirit. Check the spirit by The Holy Spirit. This woman had a spirit of divination but did not have the Holy Spirit.

2. Don't get caught up in the applause. We cannot be so eager to be validated that we accept validation from demons. Know that you are validated by God.

3. Shares, retweets, likes, and comments do not reflect your worth to God. They do not signify God's choice of you. This is what makes the world go round but not the kingdom of God. Scripture says most prophets' messages were rejected. Even Christ's message and sacrifice were rejected. So if you are not instafamous, you're in the likes of Jesus Christ and the prophets.

I love you ! God loves you more!

Scriptures to Study: Acts 16:16-18 KJV And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying: The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation. And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.
