Happy 20th birthday Jada!

Happy birthday to the gift who changed me from being a young woman to a mother. To the child who taught me how to love properly.

From the moment I found out I was carrying you, I’ve loved you. You are my gift and my heart is grateful to God that He wouldn’t let me mess this up. I’m grateful that He loved you too much to allow that to happen. So for 20 years while you’ve been growing up, mommy has too. Thank you for allowing me to grow alongside you. Thank you for never judging, for giving space for me to make mistakes, and for being so forgiving. You shouldn’t have had to be but you’ve been so graceful as you taught us, your parents, how to love you.

Baby you are the epitome of fierceness, kindness, class, black woman joy, success, ambition, and love. The way you love your siblings and your softness with children is God given. I know God loves you. I know He sees you. I know He is pleased with you and so am I. Mommy loves you more than I have the vocabulary to express. Have a beautiful 20th birthday, my Jada.

Love mommy,

Rose
