Luke, the physician, records this account of Christ's compassion. As Jesus was on His way to calvary, He stopped in a town called Nain, and saw a funeral procession for the only son of a widow. Scripture says His heart went out to her. He gave her one simple command, "Don't cry."I know many are saying that is anything but simple when she's experienced the greatest loss ever, losing her only child and son. But Christ, still commanded it knowing full well her humanly spirit could probably not meet the command. Christ, then touched her son's burial bed, commanded him to get up, and released him back to his mom. How beautiful! He knew she couldn't do it- bring her son back to life or not cry for her son's loss of life. So He fixed it. What is going on in your life that God has commanded you to not cry about but it seems too important, too insurmountable, too difficult to not cry over? Christ wants to revive that very situation. He wants to touch the bed and release life back to you. He sees, knows, and understands. He's not forgotten. It's going to live again in Jesus' name, Amen!

Scriptures: Luke 7:11-15
Soon afterward, Jesus went to a town called Nain, and his disciples and a large crowd went along with him. 12 As he approached the town gate, a dead person was being carried out—the only son of his mother, and she was a widow. And a large crowd from the town was with her. 13 When the Lord saw her, his heart went out to her and he said, “Don’t cry.”14 Then he went up and touched the bier they were carrying him on, and the bearers stood still. He said, “Young man, I say to you, get up!” 15 The dead man sat up and began to talk, and Jesus gave him back to his mother.
