Believe God for it

Last night I tossed and turned worried about my daughters upcoming surgery. I was deep asleep but still very troubled given her recent health scare. In my sleep God sent His word, His promise to me “Let not your hearts be troubled. You believe in God believe also in me.” And I woke up singing Israel Houghton’s Promise Keeper. I felt so much peace knowing God knew my worry and sent His word to quiet my fears.

In John 14:1-2, Jesus had just shared with his disciples he would be betrayed by one of them and then crucified. The disciples were scared and afraid for their own safety and lives and their dear friend Jesus. They actually got into an argument about who would betray Him. Jesus knew they would need comfort on this day and the days ahead. The disciples wholeheartedly believed in God, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. They were Jews and were taught about God and placed all their faith in Him. Jesus offered them comfort through His words to also place their faith in Him. He knew the Father, was sent by the Father, and told them the place He had prepared in His fathers house for them. What care to know Jesus made plans for them!

The same holds true for us today. Whatever gods you may place faith in- your jobs, money, good looks, aptitude, highway and bi-ways, your knees, hearts, and lungs- Christ is saying “If you trust these things to come through for you, only imagine what I am able to do for you.” If you trust your company’s plans to develop you for leadership, only imagine and believe God to develop you for His plans. If you believe in Tylenol to fix a headache only believe God for your complete healing and restoration.

Believe God for it today. Whatever the situation, circumstance, event, lifestyle, problem- believe God for it. I believe my daughters complete restoration and healing and believe your complete renewal too. God is a promise keeper. He will deliver on His word. I love you. God loves you more!
