In the words of my daughter, Jada, “Whew chile!” It’s been a mess. But I made it. I’ve been a mess. But God still made choice of me. Thank goodness for grace!
My grandma always warned in the last days all hell would break loose but she also reminded me God would STILL have the victory. Honestly, that’s where I am right now- All hell has broke loose in my home, in my mind, with my children, on my job, in my finances, in my desires that seem to be slipping away BUT I trust God will STILL get the victory. I think about how God still wins in everything.
The current political climate in Dallas is a testament to God. Our city is polarized- a huge trial wrapping up ending with convicting an off duty officer of murdering a black unarmed man in his home. Yes, a conviction, a step in the right direction of humanizing black lives and our right to live, free, proud American lives just like every other American. But only 10 years??! A life, all lives, are worth more than a decade.
Then I stopped and thought about God’s grace and how it’s sufficient for us all. Grace is just that, a gift, an unearned favor, on everyone’s behalf. So I’m choosing to just thank God that I’ve made it to a place to accept my grace and appreciate how God wins through His saving and redeeming grace in others. The prophet Isaiah, through the Holy Bible, reminded me this morning God is doing a new thing. We can forget all the former things of the past. We don’t have to keep record any longer because God is doing a new thing. He doesn’t need any help from us for His new thing to come to fruition. He’s paving roads in what we thought were wilderness. He’s springing up rivers of water in what we thought were desert and dry places.
Whew chile! Our lives, justice system, businesses, relationships, finances, friends, careers may all seem to be a mess! BUT thank God for His new thing on the way! Grace wins! God wins!
I love you but God loves you more!
